Beatles release complete audio of 'Get Back' rooftop performance

Decades after the actual performance, The Beatles finally released the complete audio of their iconic rooftop concert in 1969.

The Beatles’ official Instagram announced: “For the first time, the complete audio for the band’s legendary rooftop performance has been mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos by Giles Martin and Sam Okell.”

"The Beatles, Get Back: The Rooftop Performance," was made available for streaming platforms Friday, January 28 – two days short of the 53rd anniversary of The Beatles' surprise show at the rooftop of the Apple Corp headquarters in number 3 Savile Row, London on a blustery day back in January 30, 1969.

The album contains several takes of hits such as "Get Back," "I've Got A Feeling," and "Don't Let Me Down." Plus one-take performances of "One After 909," "Dig A Pony" and a short stab at "God Save The Queen."

The Beatles are more popular than ever five decades after their rooftop performance, which became their last performance together as a band.

The whole story about the rooftop performance, its preparation and the album that eventually became “Let It Be,” was chronicled on the hit Disney + series “The Beatles: Get Back.” The series--made from the original footage of Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg, was painstakingly restored by a team led by Director Peter Jackson--aired on the video streaming subscription platform late 2021.
