Comelec moves start of BSKE COC filing to Oct 22

Instead of Oct. 6, the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections will now start on Oct. 22.

Based on the updated Calendar of Activities of the Comelec, the filing of COC is from Oct. 22 to 29, 2022 except Oct. 23.

The poll body earlier set the filing of COC from Oct. 6 to 13.

The Comelec also set the Election Period, and Gun Ban from Nov. 6 to Dec. 20, 2022.

As for the Campaign Period, it will be from Nov. 25 to Dec. 3, 2022.

The last day to file the Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCE) is on Jan. 4, 2023.

On Wednesday, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the en banc will discuss the possible adjustments in the Calendar of Activities for BSKE.

He said this is because they do not know yet if the bill seeking to postpone the Dec. 5 polls will be approved.
