The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has expressed readiness for the Sept. 17 Maguindanao plebiscite.
"We just like to announce that we are ready for the plebiscite that wil be connected at Maguindanao," Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino said in a press briefing Thursday, Sept. 15.
She revealed that all the supplies and election paraphernalia taht will be used have already been distributed in the field.
Ferolino said even their personnel have been trained already.
"Even the teachers were already trained and they are ready," she said.
"The security sector is on top of the situation. They already conducted regular security and assessment in the area considering that Maguindanao is known for some untoward incidents in previous elections," added Ferolino.
The Maguindanao plebiscite will determine whether or not the province will be divided into two Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur.
