Bureau of Corrections’ (BuCor) personnel and members of their families will now get tuition fee discounts and scholarships at the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCr) in Quiapo, Manila.
The memorandum of agreement (MOA) between BuCor and PCCr provides that tuition fee discounts and scholarship will be provided for those enrolling in bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees.
In a statement, BuCor said the MOA “aims to build a strong collaboration between the two organizations in terms of academics, internship, student career placement, and research.”
It said that under the leadership of Director General Gerald Q. Bantag, BuCor “continues to be academically progressive and highly developed.”
It also said that Director General Bantag’s “modernization flagship will, indeed, build and expand a pool of well-educated and well-trained Corrections Officers.”
The MOA was signed last Aug. 31 by BuCor Corrections Supt. Robert A. Veneracion and PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei G. Bautista.
