Twenty-two persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), who had completed their jail terms and had been granted parole, have been released from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City.
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said a culminating program for the freed PDLs was conducted by its External Affairs Section (EAS) last Aug. 22.
The program is a support to all reformation programs for PDLs for their welfare upon their release from detention, it said.
During the culmination activity, it said the released inmates’ “Certificate of Discharge, Copy of Order of Release, Grooming Kit, White T-shirt, and referral letter addressed to the local government units (LGUs) and other private establishment for employment, and transportation expenses are given.”
As of last April 11, BuCor has 48,991 PDLs in all its seven prison facilities in the country. It has yet to update its records as many PDLs have been released since then.
