The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is set to open an access road from the compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) to the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX) for use by its employees and civilian personnel.
BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag led the clearing of the area for the new road last Friday, Aug. 19 after conducting an ocular inspection.
“The said activity aims to provide road link network connection from NBP going to MCX for easy access, establish safe travel for BuCor personnel and civilians within its premises, and secure the BuCor personnel during escorting of PDLs,” BuCor said.
It said the road is also intended “upang magkaroon ng access para sa madaliang paghuli ng mga nagbabalak tumakas na Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) (to gain easy access for the quick capture of escaping PDLs).”
“Ang buong administrasyon ay naglalayong pag-igtingin ang seguridad sa lahat ng nasasakupan ng BuCor (The administration aims to intensify the security of all BuCor properties),” it added.
