Din Tai Fung restaurant opens its biggest store in the country

It is a true xiaolongbao paradise

Since opening its stores in the Philippines in 2015, Din Tai Fung has been feeding Filipinos nothing but the best of Taiwanese cuisine. This time, local diners need not wait in long lines just to have a taste of its food as it opens its biggest store in SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Its newest branch can house over  230 guests and has three private dining rooms for special occasions. Rounding up the Taiwanese dining experience is the store’s interior, which features the artworks of visual artists Reese Lansangan and Mars Bugaoan.

Much like in its other branches, the SM Mall of Asia stores features the restaurant’s Taiwanese fair. Of course, what diners should not miss is its signature xiaolongbao shifu, which is made fresh every day. In the Philippines, Din Tai Fung offers a unique take on the xiaolongbao, which is the Chocolate Lava. As its name suggests, this xiaolongbao is sweet and decadent, crafted by the restaurant’s chefs in Manila.

Din Tai Fung was first established in 1985 in Taiwan as a cooking oil shop. But it was in the ‘70s when it reopened to become a restaurant. Since then, it has created over 177 branches in 13 different countries. It is brought to the Philippines by The Moment Group, the company behind beloved food spots 8Cuts Burgers, Manam Comfort Filipino, and Ooma, among others.
