The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday, August 4, reported that 98.31 percent of the the Election Registration Boards (ERBs) have already completed their hearings.
This is 1,630 out of the 1,658 ERBs.
"ERB hearings are now 98.43 percent national completion rate," Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in a statement.
Data from the poll body showed that only CAR (70.13 percent), Region VI (99.25 percent), and Region VIII (97.20 percent) are yet to complete their ERB hearings.
"Kindly note that earthquake affected areas in CAR, as well as others similarly situated, were granted an extension for the conduct of ERB until August 15, 2022 with the last day of filing oppositions until August 8, 2022 as approved by the Commission en banc in its regular meeting yesterday, August 3, 2022," said Laudiangco.
"For Region 1, particularly Ilocos Sur, all ERBs were able to conduct their hearings, with most being held outside of the premises of the Office of the Election Officer in consideration of safety," he added.
Laudiangco said the ERB hearings of Valderrama, Antique and Tacloban are ongoing.
The Comelec earlier explained that the applications filed during the voter registration period are subject to approval or denial by the respective ERB.
