Applications for corrections officers in BuCor's jail facilities end July 15

Applicants for the posts of corrections officers in seven prison facilities of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) for deployment this year have only until Friday, July 15, to submit the required documents.
In an advisory, BuCor said that applications submitted after the July 15 deadline will be considered for 2023 deployment.
Among other functions in prison facilities, corrections officers supervise persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), manage holding areas, ensure custody of inmates, and transport and escort inmates within secured areas according to relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
Applications and required documents should be submitted to the BuCor’s national headquarters in Muntinlupa City where the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) is located, the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, and the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro.
BuCor said that applicants should be a Filipino citizen of good moral character, has a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution, and has the appropriate civil service eligibility.
They should not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment as well as not convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, it said.
Male applicants should be at least 1.57 meters in height, while female applicants should be at least 1.52 meters tall.
It said that “a waiver on height and age requirement (up to 40 years old) may be granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities.”
But those above 36 years of age will have to sign a waiver that they may not be able to qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a uniformed officer of the BuCor, it added.
