Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla on Sunday, July 10, confirmed that he also caught the Covid-19 virus.
“I have Covid. Tested positive Thursday,” Remulla told reporters in a Viber message.
Remulla said he is experiencing very mild symptoms of Covid-19. Following health protocols, he said, he has placed himself under a seven-day quarantine.
Last July 8, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles confirmed that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has Covid-19 after undergoing an antigen test.
Angeles said those in close contact with President Marcos were already informed by the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) to observe their symptoms per protocol.
“His personal doctor, Dr. Zacate, reported Saturday that the President is doing well and very much in stable condition,” Angeles said in a statement issued Saturday, July 9.
Prior being tested positive, Marcos held his first Cabinet meeting last Tuesday, July 5. Remulla was present during the meeting.
Last week, the President also led the mass oath-taking of newly appointed officials; held a meeting with officials from the Department of Energy (DOE); and met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Malacañang.
