48 PDLs freed from NBP in Muntinlupa City

The New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City released 48 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

BuCor said 35 PDLs were released last June 13, three last June 14, and 10 last June 15. Most of those freed had served their maximum jail terms.

In 2021, the NBP released a total of 2,396 PDLs who were among the 4,610 PDLs freed by the NBP from its seven prison facilities nationwide.

The other prisons facilities that released PDLs in 2021 were the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City with 414; Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, 230; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, 423; Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, 99; Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte, 210; and Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte, 838.
