Dishes you should try at Tropical Hut, according to Twitterverse

It truly has that 'sarap na babalik-balikan'

Last June 12, 124th Philippine Independence Day, homegrown restaurant Tropical Hut trended on Twitter thanks to a single post.

Twitter user JP Tanyag shared an image of the restaurant’s Escolta branch and his ordered meal with the caption, “Tropical Hut in Escolta, ako lang ang customer nila.” This started a wave of tweets with netizens sharing not only their best memories of dining at the food spot but also their favorite dish from its menu.

Established in 1962, Tropical Hut Food Market, Inc. (THFMI) began its journey as a grocery store and expanded into a supermarket, with a coffee shop introducing its now-beloved Tropical Hut Hamburger, according to its profile in Jobstreet. After three years, the company was incorporated on Feb. 26, 1965.

“In 1972, Mercury Group of Companies, Inc. acquired the company with the introduction of a drugstore within the supermarket,” the company wrote. “Today, THFMI has six Tropical Hut Supermarket branches, 33 Tropical Hut Hamburger outlets, four Tropical Hut Drugstores, and two 10-Q Convenience Store branches.”

Whether you’re among the many who grew up eating at the resto and want to relive the good old times or a novice foodie who has always wanted to try its food, here are some of the dishes recommended by the Twitterverse you should order now.

A healthier pick, its fresh salad mix brings to the table greens, tomatoes, fruits, and croutons with a special dressing and grated cheese. This is the perfect partner for the clubhouse sandwich.
