Warning: Tricksters out to make money off Sara's link with DepEd
This early, unscrupulous individuals are allegedly using Vice President-Elect Sara Duterte's name and association with the Department of Education (DepEd) in a money-making scheme.

On Wednesday, June 1, the Duterte camp bared that it has received information about people presenting themselves as her representatives to allegedly collect advance payments for DepEd projects.
The supposed target of these activities were "contractors and suppliers of the organization".
Duterte, 44, the incumbent Davao City mayor, is set to take over the vice presidency at the end of the month. After this, she will serve as the new DepEd secretary--the Cabinet position that was offered to her by President-elect Bongbong Marcos.
"The incoming Secretary of Education has not will never designate anyone to talk to or negotiate with contractors and suppliers to engage in corrupt activities — smearing her reputation and tarnishing the image of the entire DepEd and the thousands of people working hard under the organization," Duterte's spokesperson, Liloan town, Cebu Mayor Christina Frasco said in a statement.
"Contractors, suppliers, and the general public are strongly urged to exercise prudence when dealing with individuals and/or groups claiming to represent the Vice President-elect and incoming DepEd Secretary. You may also report these suspicious activities to the authorities," added Frasco, who is the incoming Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary.
Duterte's inauguration has been set on June 19 in her native of Davao City. However, the term of current Vice President Leni Robredo won't end until June 30.
