This one's going to hurt, but you cannot order large French Fries for now
By John Legaspi
Netizens are sharing the sad news online.
If there is one fast-food meal that Filipinos will never get tired of eating, that is the French fries. It is such a beloved item that fast-food chains in the country are offering it to diners not just in large portions, but also in bucket sizes. Unfortunately, a mega serving of the fried treat is currently not available in many restaurants today, as shared by netizens.

Apart from removing large French fries from the menu, social media users also shared that potato-based meals, such as hash browns, mashed potatoes, and potato wedges, are not available during their recent visits to different restaurants.
so ure telling me there’s potato shortage that’s why kfc doesnt have mashed potatoes, jollibee and mcdo doesnt offer large fries/bff fries temporarily?

McDonald’s Philippines makes it official through a product advisory on its website. “Our Medium Fries, Large Fries, and BFF Fries are temporarily not available in our delivery channels,” it says “Rest assured we are working to serve them to you again soon. In the meantime, you may enjoy your other McDonald’s favorites!”
Although the international food chain didn’t explain the reason why they are not offering the said French fries serving, for now, the same situation has been happening in its stores in Japan earlier this year. The French fries shortage is also present in Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the latest, South Korea.
According to a report by The Washington Post last January, there has been a growing potato shortage worldwide and can be a result of a number of factors—from the ongoing pandemic to ”bad weather, blights, or labor disputes.”
