More than a sharp mind and a willing heart to serve, people who are drawn to politics have to have fit bodies as well. The back-breaking road to a political victory, from knocking on doors and walking long distances to go house to house to shaking hands and hugging total strangers, entails strength and stamina as well as great resistance to all potential health hazards that may come their way. It is not unusual, therefore, to find candidates whose political preparations include sticking to a fitness routine, which not only strengthens their bodies, but also adds eventually to their attractiveness to target voters.
With the elections coming less than a month from now, Thirllmaker features 10 young male non-celebrity politicians whose presence in their campaign rallies have generated “ooohs” and “aaahs” from gushing fans who all wish to get a chance to get a tight grip on their ripped, sexy bodies. These are the guys who may have a fallback career as action or sexy stars in the movies, should they fail to snatch the seats they are seeking to occupy post May 9.
Carlo Lisandro Gonzalez – The first time I saw this guy was during a TV interview where he spoke about his party list’s plans of action. This incumbent Congressman from the Marino Party List went to the Philippine Women’s College of Davao where he studied Entrepreneurship. A proud Davaoeno, his social media status says that he is “in a relationship.”
David Angelo Vargas – The incumbent Mayor of Aliaga, Nueva Ecija created quite a stir when he resorted to doing live broadcasts on his accounts after the Provincial Board of Nueva Ecija issued him a six-month suspension. More than getting sympathy and support from his viewers, he also amassed new fans from all over the country because of his undeniable good looks. He is the husband of Councilor Charisse Abalos, who is the daughter of Mayor Menchie and former MMDA Chair Benhur Abalos of Mandaluyong.
Faustino “Inno” Dy V – This incumbent Congressman of the 6th District of Isabela comes from a political family, being the son of Vice Governor and former Governor Bojie Dy III. Hailing from Echague, Isabela, he recently got married to a fellow legislator, Congresswoman Sheena Tan. He finished an International Business course from a US university.
Victor Pring – Young as he may be, this artist is the founder of several business ventures, including TakaoBrosPH and Tipple and Slaw Katipunan. Aiming to be part of the City Council representing Quezon City’s second district, he is also part of popular radio station, Magic 89.9.
Sam Torres Aquino Bengzon – Sam is a Southeast Asian Games Medalist who represented the country in the field of ice hockey. The grandson of three-term Tanauan Mayor Sonia Torres Aquino, he is a business graduate of the Dela Salle University-College of Saint Benilde and is presently a successful entrepreneur. He is aiming to be one of the councilors of the City of Tanauan.
Here are the rest of our 10 “hunky” politicos:
MakMak Luancing – Seeking re-election as the Vice Mayor in Lipa City, Batangas,
Gino Sambilay Torres – Incumbent Councilor, Calumpit, Bulacan.
Mico Clavano – Running for Congress, BG Party List.
Quin Cruz – Running for Councilor, Pasig City.
