As rivals narrow gap in latest Pulse Asia survey, BBM-Sara's UniTeam to revisit areas where they campaigned

“As Mayor Sara has stated, we have a running-scared mindset. We will do our utmost to improve our candidates’ 56-percent voter support. We remain hopeful of a landslide victory,” Romualdez said on Thursday, April 7, referring to Duterte’s previous statement on April 5.

This, following the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey in March 2022, which depicted a 56 percent voter preference for Marcos among 2,400 sample voters, a sharp 4 percent drop compared to Pulse Asia’s February survey which saw a 60 percent preference for Marcos.

As for UniTeam's vice presidential bet, Duterte garnered 56 percent of voter preference, a 3 percent increase from February’s figure of 53 percent.

Duterte previously explained that she and Marcos were still running scared despite their poll front-runner status, explaining that nothing is certain until election day.

“Yan dapat ang mindset namin (running scared) dahil walang kasiguraduhan ang pagkapanalo until ma-proclaim ka po (That should be our mindset because there’s no assurance of a victory until you are proclaimed),” the Davao City Mayor told reporters on April 5.

Meanwhile, UniTeam’s perceived rival presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo jumped a whopping 9 percent, from 15 percent in February’s survey to 24 percent in the March figures.

Robredo’s running mate, Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, saw a 15 percent voter preference in the March survey, a sharp 4 percent increase in voter preference from the previous 11 percent February survey scoring.

There are only 32 days left until the 2022 national elections.
