It just so happens that Sandro has the advantage of having political heavyweights in former senator Bongbong Marcos and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez as his father and uncle, respectively.

Sandro gave some insights Friday, March 25, on his relatives' contributions and assistance in his bid to follow in their footsteps and become a public servant.

"Inspiration? Ah, I'd have to say my father," he said in a chance interview on the sidelines of his local campaign launch outside the Provincial Capitol here. He referring to Bongbong, the current frontrunner in pre-election surveys for president.

"Because he's...I've always said he's one of the most forgiving, one of the most kindest people I know, and he always has the people’s interest at heart. And to me, that what encompasses a public servant," he said of his dad, who graced the event as special guest.

During his speech at Friday night's rally, Sandro also proudly introduced to the crowd his "boss", the majority leader.

“Dalawang taon po akong nagtrabaho sa kaniyang opisina sa Kongreso at siya ang dahilan kung bakit handang-handa na po akong maging congressman (For two years, I worked under him in his office in Congress and he is the reason why I am very ready to become congressman),,” he said amid matinee idol-level screams from the audience.

Sandro had previously tagged his uncle and Leyte 1st district congressman Martin as his mentor and teacher on the legislative process in the House of Representatives.

“Lahat po ng natutunan ko sa Kongreso ay dahil sa kaniya. Ako po ay nagpapasalamat na nandito siya ngayon (All that I've learned in Congress is because of him. I am thankful that he is here today)," Sandro said during a gathering early this month to celebrate his birthday.

Martin, chairperson of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) party, is the first cousin of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong.

The younger Marcos, who obtained his master’s degree at the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom, is running as representative for the 1st district of Ilocos Norte.
