CIW in Mandaluyong City warns public vs scammers using Facebook accounts

The Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City warned the public against falling prey to scammers who use the facility’s Facebook accounts to ask payments for the release of inmates or for accommodations in its “e-dalaw” and “e-burol” privileges.

“Pinapaalalahanan po ang publiko na wala pong bayad ang e-dalaw, e-burol at pagpapalaya (The public is advised that the CIW is not asking payments for its e-dalaw, e-burol and the release of inmates),” the CIW said.

“At ang institusyong ito ay hindi nag tra-transact through Gcash (This institution does not make transactions using Gcash),” it added.

It advised the public that inquiries and verifications can be made with the facility through its telephone number 8532-1736 as well as through its official Facebook pages -- https://www.facebook.com/CIWPIO/ and https://www.facebook.com/ciw.edalaw.
