MB Daily News Update: Free MRT3 rides for a month

President Duterte announced on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, that the government will be offering free rides on MRT3 from March 28 up to April 30 after he inaugurated the rehabilitation works done on the major rail system.

The rail system traversing EDSA now runs at 60 kilometers per hour (kph), faster than the previous 25 kph, and there are now more operating units.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) is awaiting the go-signal from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) if it would be safe to administer a second booster shot to the elderly and the immunocompromised.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has also been meeting with officials of the Japanese government in a bid to bring back Japanese tourists to the country, now that Covid-19-related restrictions have been eased.
