Fifty more persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) are set for release from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said on Wednesday, March 23.
In a statement, BuCor said that those set for release from the medium-security compound have undergone a pre-release program conducted last March 10.
“The pre-release program is one of the programs under the External Affairs Section (EAS) which required the EAS to conduct lectures on personality development,” it said.
“This program will help them develop their self-esteem and mental aspect in preparation for their release in community,” it added.
Lectures on depression, conflicts, frustrations were conducted by psychometricians during the program, it noted.
In 2021, BuCor freed a total of 4,610 qualified PDLs from its seven prison facilities nationwide.
