Hawaii-based social media influencer Bretman Rock has expressed his support for Vice President Leni Robredo after learning about her closing statement in the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) presidential debate on Saturday, March 19.
Bretman Rock, who is a fellow Ilocano of Robredo’s closest rival former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., posted about the Vice President on his Instagram story.
His first post was a photo from @lenirobredotayo with the female presidential candidate speaking to a crowd of kakampinks in one of her campaign rallies.
He captioned the story with pink heart emojis.
The second one is a screenshot of Robredo during the Comelec-organized presidential debate last Saturday.
Tagging Robredo (@bise_leni), Bretman Rock quoted her last statement during the debate: “The best man for the job is a woman.”
“This statement shook me to the core... My president is a WOMAN (Philippine flag),” he added.
This was not the first time Robredo was noticed by international celebrities.
In February, renowned pop icon Cher tweeted about Robredo after learning about who she was.
The singer and award-winning actress tweeted: “IF YOU WANT IT DONE RIGHT....LET A WOMAN DO IT.” When a netizen linked the quote to the hashtag #LetLeniLead, Cher replied that she didn’t know “Leni.”
“Excuse Dont Know Leni,” the “Believe” singer said.
The netizen then introduced Robredo as the vice president of the country and “soon to be our president.”

Robredo has topped both Google Trends and Facebook Analytics apart from Twitter after joining the presidential race.
She recently dominated Google Trends from Feb. 5 to March 2, 2022 with an aggregate score of 107 from searches using the keywords “Leni” and Robredo” and from positive engagements. These numbers are ahead of her rival Marcos’ aggregate score of 79.
Google Trends was successful in predicting the outcomes of latest elections in the United States, Greece, Spain, Germany and Brazil.
Robredo has a five-point lead over the former senator this month in Facebook’s engagement score, which helps measure potential for people becoming voters of a certain candidate.
The Vice President currently has 8 million engagements over Marcos’ 7.5 million.
