More members of Seventeen, Fromis 9 recover from Covid-19

K-pop artists under Pledis Entertainment have fully recovered from Covid-19 as South Korea recorded nearly 384,000 new cases in one day.

On March 12, the agency announced that K-pop boy band Seventeen’s The 8 and Seungkwan “have made full recoveries from Covid-19 and their quarantine has concluded as of today.”

“The 8 and Seungkwan have been administering self-treatment at home as per health authority guidelines and have not shown any extraordinary symptoms. As their quarantine has concluded, they can resume their activities starting from today,” added Pledis Entertainment.

The 8 was confirmed to have Covid-19 on March 7 through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test after showing symptoms of very mild cough. Seungkwan tested positive for Covid-19 on March 5.

From Feb. 12 and to March 8, nine members of Seventeen were diagnosed with Covid-19. They are Wonwoo, Vernon, Hoshi, S.Coups, DK, Seungkwan, The 8, Joshua and Jun.

Besides The 8 and Seungkwan, other members who have recovered from Covid-19 are Wonwoo, Vernon, Hoshi, S.Coups and DK.

In addition, Pledis Entertainment also said on March 12 that Fromis 9 members “Lee Saerom and Jang Gyuri have made full recoveries from Covid-19 and their quarantine has concluded as of today.”

“Lee Saerom and Jang Gyuri have been administering self-treatment at home as per health authority guidelines and have not shown any extraordinary symptoms. As their quarantine has concluded, they can resume their activities starting from today,” it added.

Recent infections among Korean celebrities include K-pop boy band BTOB’s Lee Changsub, Peniel and Yook Sungjae, and STAYC’s Yoon.

On March 12, South Korea recorded 383,665 new Covid-19 cases to bring the total confirmed cases to 6.2 million amid the surge in Omicron variant cases.
