
Fourteen officials of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), led by Officer-in-Charge Eric B. Distor, have been promoted by President Duterte.
In a statement, the NBI said the President promoted Director Distor to the post of Director V or senior deputy director.
Also promoted to the rank of Director V was Regional Operations Service (ADROS) Assistant Director Antonio M. Pagatpat.
Promoted to the rank of Director III were Emeterio A. Dongallo Jr., Arcelito Cernal Albao, Claro C. De Castro Jr., Victor John Paul H. Roquillo, and Janet M. Francisco, while those elevated to the rank of Director II were Noel C. Bocaling, Glenn A. Ricarte, Joel R. Ayop, Victor V. Lorenzo, Hazel P. Roxas, Gerald L. Intes, and Isaac R. Carpeso, Jr.
“The government and the people deserve our service and we will continue to perform what is expected of us. This is our way of expressing our appreciation to the President,” Distor said.
“The NBI needs to cater to the expanding functions of the Bureau as we respond to the increasing cases of criminality confronting our society such as cybercrimes, human trafficking, illegal drugs, white collar crimes, and other cases of fraud and crimes against environmental laws,” he said.
"Quick law enforcement and police actions including the arrests and neutralizations of criminal elements will result in political stability, investor confidence, bigger economic gains, many job opportunities in the country and will finally result in attaining lasting peace and order, and prosperity that will lift up and save more Filipino lives from hunger and poverty,” he added.
