94% of BuCor personnel COVID vaccinated

A total of 3,679 or more than 94 percent of the 3,910 personnel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) in its seven prison facilities nationwide had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Feb. 21.

Of those vaccinated, BuCor said 3,587 had received their full doses while 92 had their first dose. A total of 713 personnel had also received their booster shots, it said.

Earlier, BuCor said that as of Feb. 21, a total of 46,576 of 48,434 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in its prison facilities had been vaccinated.

A total of 26,265 PDLs had received their full doses while 20,311 others got their first dose, it added.

BuCor said it has been expediting the vaccination of PDLs and personnel as a precaution against COVID-19 pandemic.
