The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has appointed Corrections Chief Superintendent Julie May C. Taguiam, a lawyer, as head of its business center (BBC).
On top of her new post, Taguiam will still head the bureau’s public information office (PIO), BuCor Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag said.
As BBC head, Taguiam replaced lawyer Randy G. Serrano last Feb. 21. BBC is the office that manages the assets of the BuCor in line with Republic Act No. 10575, the BuCor Act of 2013. BuCor manages seven prison and penal farms nationwide.
Taguiam was named PIO chief in June last year, while Serrano was appointed BBC chief in Feb. 2021.
The statement issued by BuCor did not say if Serrano has assumed a new post or has retired.
