96 percent of BuCor’s PDLs vaccinated

Over 96 percent or 46,572 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in seven prison facilities of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) have been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement, BuCor said that of those vaccinated, 26,252 PDLs had received their full doses while 20,331 others got their first dose.

Last data from BuCor showed there are 48,436 PDLs in seven prison facilities nationwide.

BuCor said that the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City has the highest number of vaccinated PDLs.

As of Feb. 7, BuCor said there were 27,596 PDLs vaccinated at NBP; Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, 3,281; Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, 2,355; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, 1,716; Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, 2,702; Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte, 2,120; and Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) and its CIW, the DPPF, 6,802.
