'Person of interest' in social media post on 'kill threat' vs BBM turns over mobile phone to NBI

Ruel “Bong” Ricafort who surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to clear his name in the “assassination threat” against presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) has submitted his cellular telephone for examination.
NBI Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) Chief Victor V. Lorenzo said Ricafort turned over his mobile phone last Wednesday, Feb. 9, when NBI Deputy Director for Forensic Investigation Service Ferdinand Lavin M. Lavin dared him (Ricafort) to do so.
Aside from the surrender of his mobile phone, Lavin also dared Ricafort to undergo a lie detector test.
“Pumayag. Pero i-sched pa namin (Ricafort agreed to undergo a lie detector test. But we have not yet scheduled as to when it will be conducted),” Lorenzo said.
Ricafort surrendered to the NBI last Feb. 8 after learning he was being pointed to as the person who posted the assassination threat against BBM on social media platform TikTok.
But Ricafort told the NBI: “Actually yung account pong iyon hindi po akin yun (The TikTok account that was used to make the threat is not mine).”
“Yung ginawa pong iyon, yung account ko sa Facebook kinuha yung profile pic ko then yung name ko po (The fake TikTok account used my profile picture on Facebook and my name),” he explained.
