CIW warns vs fake Facebook account

The Correctional Institution for Women (CIW), a prison facility in Mandaluyong City under the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), warned the public against a "fake Facebook account" posing as its official social media account.

“The Correctional Institution for Women wishes to inform the public that the Facebook account posing as ‘Bucor Ciw’ is not being run by any BuCor-CIW personnel,” the CIW said in its advisory.

At the same time, CIW said that “this institution DOES NOT transact through Gcash,” a system that allows a person to pay bills, send or receive money, and other transactions using a mobile telephone.

“DO NOT believe any information other than that of the CIW PIO. Kindly report or block the account to prevent the creation of false identities,” it said.
