3 ‘armed and dangerous’ PDLs escape from NBP in Muntinlupa City Jan. 17

Three persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the maximum-security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City escaped at about 1 a.m. today, Jan. 17.

The escapees, who, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said, are “considered armed and dangerous,” are Arwin Villeza Bio, 35 years old, from Javier, Leyte; Drakilou Yusores Falcon, 34, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur; and Pacific Villaruz Adlawan, 49, from Tandag City in Surigao del Sur.

BuCor said that Bio was convicted of murder and attempted murder, Falcon, robbery with homicide and with pending double murder case; and Adlawan, frustrated murder and illegal drugs use, and pending frustrated homicide case.

BuCor warned on the escape of the three PDLs and urged the public to report if they are sighted to hotline numbers 09178049362 and 09186001081 or to the nearest police station.

The Muntinlupa City police reported that three corrections officers and a PDL was injured in the course of the escape of the three prisoners.

The police’s initial report stated that the three escapees “jumped from the walk path and immediately fired upon the duty guards at Gate 4 (near the tower) and proceeded to Gate 3 where they again fired at the duty guard.”

The escapees “exited at Sitio Magdaong at the NBP Reservation Area,” the report stated.

The guards “who sustained gunshot wounds” are Correction Officer (CO) 1 Angelto Marquez, 57 years old; CO1 Mark Joseph Dela Cruz, 29; CO1 Jancy Dagamas, 26; and PDL Michael V. Dullanvin, 46.

The wounded guards and the PDL were brought to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for treatment, the report said.

It also said that Police Col. Angel L. Garcillano of the Muntinlupa City police have been at the NBP for pursuit operation and investigation.

The report did not state how and where the three escapees secured their firearms.
