'Jolina' forces postponement of Robredo's QC Vax Express; find out new schedule here

The impact of tropical storm “Jolina,” which caused heavy downpour in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, has forced the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to reschedule its Vaccine Express drive in Quezon City.

Vice President Leni Robredo announced on her Facebook the postponement of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination drive for jeepney and tricycle drivers and delivery riders.

The drivers and riders were supposed to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from Sept. 9 to 10 in a mall parking lot in Novaliches.



The Vaccine Express, which is a drive-through vaccination initiative, aims to help the Quezon City local government speed up its inoculation program.

In an advisory, Robredo’s office announced the new vaccination schedules for next week.

“Para sa mga nakakuha ng first dose noong August 12, sa September 13 (Lunes) po ang inyong schedule. Sa mga nabakunahan naman noong August 13, sa September 14 (Martes) po ang schedule ng inyong second dose (For those who received the first dose last Aug. 12, your schedule is on Sept. 13 . Those vaccinated on Aug. 13, the schedule of your second dose is on Sept. 14 )," it said.

A total of 3,164 individuals have received their first COVID-19 jabs via the Quezon City Vaccine Express.

“Ang pagbabago po ng schedule ay isasagawa dahil sa masamang panahon dulot ng Bagyong #JolinaPH (The change in schedule is due to the bad weather caused by Typhoon #JolinaPH),” it added.

In Metro Manila, the vaccination schedules in the cities of Caloocan and Navotas have also been cancelled for the same reason.

The Vaccine Express began in June when the OVP and the city government of Manila launched a drive-through vaccination for tricycle and pedicab driders.

Robredo have also partnered with officals from Naga City and Iriga in Camarines Sur, her home province; as well as from Pasig City; and San Pedro, Laguna, for the vaccination program.
