Tropical Cyclone 'Jolina' Tracker

Tropical cyclone “Jolina” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Thursday and re-intensified into a severe tropical storm over the West Philippine Sea.

State weather bureau PAGASA said Jolina exited the country’s monitoring area at 6:15 p.m.

PAGASA said the center of Jolina was estimated at 605 kilometers (km) West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan as of 10 p.m.

It packed a maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph, while moving westward at 30 kph.

5 p.m., Sept. 9

State weather agency PAGASA said tropical storm “Jolina” (international name “Conson”) is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Thursday.

PAGASA estimated the center of Jolina at 410 kilometers (km) West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan as of 4 p.m.

It had a maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph, while moving westward at 30 kph.

The PAGASA lifted on Thursday, Sept. 9, the tropical cyclone wind signals in areas recently affected by tropical storm “Jolina” (international name “Conson”) as it further moves away from the country.

The state weather bureau estimated the center of Jolina at 240 kilometers (km) West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan as of 10 a.m.

Jolina still packed maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of up to 115 kph, while moving at a slower speed of 10 kph westward.

It is expected to move generally west northwestward Thursday over the West Philippine Sea and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight.

5 a.m., Sept. 9

Tropical storm “Jolina” (international name “Conson”) maintained its strength while further moving away from Luzon landmass.

PAGASA estimated the center of Jolina at 145 kilometers (km) West Northwest of Iba, Zambales or 175 km West of Dagupan City as of 4 a.m.

The storm still packed a maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph, while moving northwestward at 25 kph.

2 a.m., Sept. 9

Tropical storm “Jolina” (international name “Conson”) is forecast to re-intensify into a severe tropical storm before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, Sept. 9.

PAGASA estimated the center of Jolina 75 kilometers (km) West Northwest of Iba, Zambales at around 1 a.m. Thursday.

It maintained its strength packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph while moving northwestward at 30 kph away from the country’s landmass.

11 p.m., Sept. 8

After making multiple landfalls since Monday, Sept. 6, tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") left the country's landmass on Wednesday evening, Sept. 8.

PAGASA said Jolina was already over the coastal waters of Zambales. It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph while northwest at 20 kph.

"On the forecast track, Jolina will move generally northwestward tonight (Sept. 8) through tomorrow (Sept. 9) over the West Philippine Sea," PAGASA said.

8 p.m., Sept. 8

PAGASA said the center of storm "Jolina" was already over Mariveles, Bataan at around 7 p.m., Wednesday.

It will likely continue to traverse Bataan and Zambales before emerging over the West Philippine Sea between Wednesday evening, Sept. 8, and early Thursday morning, Sept. 9.

PAGASA said Jolina has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph while crossing Bataan.

5 p.m., Sept. 8

Tropical cyclone "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has weakened into a storm while moving northwest towards Bataan.

PAGASA said Jolina is now packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

It estimated the center of the tropical storm over the Manila Bay or 135 kilometers (km) south of Sangley Pt., Cavite.

PAGASA said Jolina will likely make another landfall over the vicinity of Bataan Peninsula on Wednesday evening before it emerges over the West Philippine Sea.

2 p.m., Sept. 8

After traversing Batangas, severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") is now headed towards Cavite.

PAGASA said the center of Jolina was located over San Nicolas, Batangas while packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

Should it keep its northwest movement at 15 kph, PAGASA said Jolina will likely have its 9th and final landfall over the Bataan peninsula on Wednesday evening.

11 a.m., Sept. 8

Severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has made its eighth landfall over San Juan, Batangas at around 9 a.m.

Jolina is expected to traverse Batangas and Cavite provinces before emerging over the Manila Bay between Wednesday afternoon and evening, which will be followed by another landfall in the vicinity of the Bataan peninsula.

It may be closest to Metro Manila between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Jolina's landfalls, so far, were in Hernani, Eastern Samar (10 p.m., Sept. 6); Daram, Samar (2 a.m., Sept. 7); Sto Niño, Samar (3:40 a.m., Sept. 7); Almagro, Samar (6:30 a.m., Sept. 7); Tagapul-an, Samar (7:50 a.m., Sept. 7); Dimasalang, Masbate (10 a.m., Sept. 7); Torrijos, Marinduque (12:15 a.m., Sept. 8); and San Juan, Batangas (9 a.m., Sept. 8).

A slightly weaker severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") is about to make landfall over Lobo-San Juan in Batangas.

PAGASA said Jolina is already over the coastal waters of San Juan, Batangas while packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

It is moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

5 a.m., Sept. 8

The center of severe tropical storm "Jolina" was already over the coastal waters of Boac, Marinduque at around 4 a.m.

"It is forecast to move over the Tayabas Bay and make another landfall in the vicinity of eastern Batangas this morning. However, due to the recent southwestward trend in the shift of track forecasts, the possibility of landfall in the vicinity of northern Oriental Mindoro is not ruled out at this time," PAGASA said.

Afterward, Jolina may traverse the Batangas-Cavite area before emerging over Manila Bay Wednesday evening.

Severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") continues to move west-northwest over the Sibuyan Sea as it heads for the Marinduque-Banton Island area.

As of 10 p.m, the center of the severe tropical storm was located 50 kilometers (km) north-northeast of Romblon, Romblon.

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph while moving northwest at 15 kph.

8 p.m., Sept. 7

Severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has maintained its strength while crossing the Sibuyan Sea towards Southern Luzon.

PAGASA estimated the center of Jolina at 65 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Romblon, Romblon. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 100 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

In the next 12 hours, PAGASA said Jolina will likely move generally west-northwest over the Sibuyan Sea while heading towards the Bondoc Peninsula-Marinduque area.

Afterward, it will traverse Tayabas Bay before another landfall over the Quezon-Batangas area Wednesday afternoon.

5 p.m., Sept. 7

Severe tropical storm "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has further weakened but may still bring rains over Bicol Region, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas, and Metro Manila in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA estimated the center of severe tropical storm Jolina at 60 kilometers (km) west-northwest of Masbate City or 90 km east of Romblon, Romblon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

2 p.m., Sept. 7

Typhoon "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has weakened into a severe tropical storm while traversing mainland Masbate.

PAGASA said Jolina was in the vicinity of Baleno, Masbate at around 1 p.m.

In the PAGASA's bulletin, Jolina slightly weakened, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

It said that areas that were placed under tropical cyclone wind signal number 3 were now lowered to Signal No. 2.

11 a.m., Sept. 7

Typhoon "Jolina" (international name "Conson") has made another landfall over Dimasalang, Masbate at around 10 a.m.

In the next 12 hours, PAGASA said Jolina may continue to move generally west-northwest, traverse Masbate and Ragay Gulf, before making another landfall in the vicinity of southeastern Quezon Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning, Sept. 8.

Jolina has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

Typhoon "Jolina" (international name "Conson") continues to move west-northwest over Samar Sea towards the general direction of Masbate.

PAGASA said the typhoon has so far made four landfalls. These were in Hernani, Eastern Samar (10 p.m.) on Monday, Sept. 6; and in Daram, Samar (2 a.m.), Sto Niño, Samar (3:40 a.m.), and Almagro, Samar (6:30 a.m.).

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

5 a.m., Sept. 7

The center of the eye of typhoon Jolina (international name "Conson") was already over the coastal waters of Sto Niño, Samar.

It has so far made three landfalls--in Hernani, Eastern Samar (10 p.m.) on Monday, Sept. 6; and in Daram, Samar (2 a.m.) and Sto Niño, Samar (3:40 a.m.) on Tuesday.

Within the next 12 hours, PAGASA said the typhoon may move over Samar Sea and traverse or pass close to the island municipalities of Samar and the northern coast of Biliran before making landfall in the vicinity of Masbate, likely over the mainland or Ticao Island.

Typhoon Jolina (international name "Conson") continues to move west-northwest over the southern portion of Samar province.

PAGASA said the center of the eye of Jolina was in the vicinity of Santa Rita, Samar while unleashing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph.

After rapidly intensifying into a typhoon, "Jolina" (international name "Conson") made landfall over Hernani, Eastern Samar at around 10 p.m.

PAGASA said Jolina was packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 165 kph while moving west-northwest at 20 kph.

Tropical cyclone wind signal number 3 has been hoisted over the southern portions of Eastern Samar and Samar.

8 p.m., Sept. 6

"Jolina" (Conson) has further intensified and is now a severe tropical storm.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

PAGASA estimated the center of Jolina at 30 kilometers east-northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar at around 7 p.m.

Based on the latest forecast track, PAGASA said Jolina will likely have its first landfall over the Eastern Samar-Northern Samar area Monday evening or early Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, then on to its second landfall over Catanduanes by Tuesday afternoon.

Afterward, Jolina may move northwest parallel to the east coast of Southern Luzon and will likely make its third landfall over the eastern section of Central Luzon by Thursday morning, Sept. 9.

5 p.m., Sept. 6

Jolina has intensified into a tropical storm and was given an international name "Conson."

PAGASA said Jolina has maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

As it intensified, PAGASA also raised tropical cyclone wind signal number 2 over parts of Eastern Visayas.

A of 4 p.m., the center of tropical storm was located 95 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, while it was moving west-northwest at 20 kph.

11 a.m., Sept. 6

Tropical depression "Jolina" has slightly intensified while over the Philippine Sea, and was packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

As of 10 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was located 205 km east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, or 230 km east-northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

PAGASA said Jolina may make landfall as a tropical storm over Isabela on Thursday, Sept. 9.

5 a.m., Sept. 6

PAGASA located the center of tropical depression Jolina at 300 kilometers (km) east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, or 310 km east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving west-southwest at 20 kph.

Tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 is up over Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao Islands, and Bucas Grande Islands.

2 a.m., Sept. 6

The low pressure area east of Eastern Samar has intensified into a tropical depression and was given a local name "Jolina."

Jolina is the 10th cyclone for 2021 and the first for September.
