LOOK: KFC's iconic Double Down is back

"Still no buns, still all meat," says global fast food brand KFC as it announces the comeback of the iconic Double Down sandwich.

With two pieces of fried chicken fillet instead of bun, the dish doubles its meaty goodness with strips of bacon sandwich with cheese and mayo. The Double Down first served in the Philippines in 2010, and in succeeding years have come and gone and produced different variations such the Zinger and Junior Double Downs.

For its 2021 comeback, the Colonel-inspired chicken sandwich will be available in original and in hot and crispy Zinger fillets. Available for a limited time only, fans will have early access to it on the KFC website and app starting Aug. 27, 2021, and it will be in stores nationwide on Aug. 30, 2021.
