French fries are usually the perfect sidekick to whatever fast food staple you are having. While they are among the humble and inexpensive dishes on the menu, nobody would ever pass on this golden finger food.

Giving them a well-deserved time in the limelight is New York-based restaurant Serendipity3 as they serve one-of-a-kind French fries around the globe. Recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most expensive French fries, its Creme de la Creme Pommes Frites is the fine dining version of our favorite salted treat.

This French fries dish is priced at $200. Converting it into Philippine peso, it is estimated to cost P10,000. For a platter of deep-fried potatoes, this one's a little pricey, don't think? Well, the thing is it is not just a vegetable thrown into a jacuzzi of hot oil.

The restaurant's leaders creative chef Joe Calderone and corporate executive chef Fredrick Schoen-Kiewert elevates the French fries by using Upstate Chipperbeck potatoes blanched in a champagne mix incorporating Dom Perignon and J. LeBlanc Champagne Ardenne Vinegar. Fancy, right? The sliced potatoes are then cooked with goose fat from France thrice. Then seasoned with Guerande truffle salt, Urbani summer truffle oil. To amplify the truffle taste, it is also served with Crete Senesi Pecorino Tartufello cheese shavings and black summer truffles from Italy. For a dose of luxury, a sprinkling of 23k edible gold dust.

According to Guinness World of Records, the special French fries are served on a Baccarat crystal Arabesque plate with a bowl of Mornay sauce on the side. The dish's dip also packs good flavors and distinct ingredients as it is made of organic A2 100 percent grass-fed cream from Jersey Cows and Gruyere Truffled Swiss Raclette.

"As part of the Guinness World Records guidelines, the dish must be available for purchase to the public, and an unbiased customer is required to buy it, to qualify for the title," the world record authority says.

Apart from bringing home the honor of serving the exorbitant plate of fries, the restaurant has also broken previous records for the most high-priced milkshake, sandwich, and dessert.
