Anthony Mackie is taking over the reins as MCU’s Captain America.
While there’s no official announcement from Marvel, Empireonline wrote that “Mackie’s signed on and hopefully being well compensated for his sterling work now and in future.”

Recall that Mackie’s character Sam Wilson eventually donned the Captain America costume at the end of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” series in Disney. And rightly so, as Steve Rogers (played famously by Chris Evans) passed his iconic shield to Wilson at the end of the Avengers Endgame movie.
Empireonline also mentioned that writers Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, “are at work on the script for a new Captain America movie.” And that the “new Cap movie will likely be one of the anchors of Phase Five for the MCU.”

Our bets are that Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson a.k.a. The Falcon will have to take the Captain America moniker and keep it warm before eventually, as what always happens in the comic books, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), eventually finds a way to come and take the mantle of Captain America back.
But that’s another story. In the meantime, Anthony Mackie deserves his shot for his own stand-alone movie in the MCU.
