Palace: 29.31% of 'ayuda' for ECQ-hit families in NCR distributed
Malacañang said that 29.31 percent of the P11.25 billion allotted for the financial assistance or ayuda for families in the National Capital Region (NCR) has been distributed to qualified recipients.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque made the statement as Metro Manila neared the end of its two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period on Friday, August 20, due to the spike in coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.
In his press briefing on Monday, August 16, Roque said a total of P3.29 billion have been distributed to families affected by the ECQ as of August 15. The said amount was 29.31 percent of the P11.25 allotted for the cash aid program.
Based on data presented by the Palace spokesman, Makati topped the list of local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila in terms of distribution of financial assistance. The city has already distributed 51.48 percent or P266,346,000 worth of cash aid to its constituents.
The following LGUs followed Makati:
- Taguig at 50.94 percent (P410,468,000)
- Caloocan at 45 percent (P604,220,000)
- Marikina at 36.02 percent (P138,340,000)
- Pateros at 35.23 percent (P18,468,000)
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) initially released P10.894 billion on August 6 to aid residents and families affected by the ECQ in Metro Manila.
On August 12, Roque confirmed that President Duterte approved the release of an additional P3.4 billion for cash assistance for residents affected by the strict lockdown in different places in the country.
As of August 16, Metro Manila and Laguna are under ECQ until August 20 while Bataan is under strict lockdown until August 22.
Roque confirmed last week that P2.715 billion worth of cash assistance for Laguna residents and the P700 million for those in Bataan were already released.
LGUs were given 15 days to finish the distribution of the financial assistance to their constituents but were allowed an extension if they cannot complete it due to challenges brought about by the pandemic.
