Robin Padilla explains viral 'no man can resist temptation' statement

Action star Robin Padilla defended himself following his viral statement, which seemingly justify cheating.

Recall that in an interview with Ogie Diaz, Robin confirmed the split of his daughter Kylie and her husband Aljur Abrenica following the latter's alleged infidelity.

Robin said he has nothing against it, declaring it’s natural for men to cheat if there’s temptation around.

“Tsaka sa panahon ngayon, huwag tayong maglokohan, pare. Di ako naniniwala na merong lalaki na makakatanggi sa tukso,” he said.

Anyway, in an interview with his wife of 11 years, Mariel Rodriguez, Robin reiterated that what he said is based on his experience.

 “Ako, e, nagsasalita sa aking experience. Experience 'yon nung ako ay nasa tugatog ng aking kasikatan,” he related. "Ang tukso ay realidad. Kasama sa every day life."

Asked if he ever cheated during their relationship, Robin quipped: "Pinapayagan mo naman ako tumingin-tingin."

But turning serious, "Hindi lahat ng tukso ibig sabihin you fell for it."

Later, he asked everyone who had a violent reaction to his viral interview to watch the whole clip first.

“Iintindihin nila muna bago nila ako huhusgahan, kasi ang iba hindi naman nila napanood nang buo yung interview,” he said. “Dun lang sa caption, binanatan na ‘ko nang sobra-sobra."

“Ibig kong sabihin hindi ka dapat umabot sa punto na ‘yon, di ba? Hindi porke’t sinabi na natukso ka, e, may ginawa ka na. Ang sama naman mag-isip ng mga ‘yon. Napaka… masyado ka nang forward.”

Robin also talked about faithfulness.

“Kasi, hindi ipinagyayabang ang pagiging loyal. Ang pagiging loyal ay ginagawa, hindi yun sinasabi. Pagka masyado kang talkies, baka kulang sa walkies,” he said.

“Huwag tayong masyadong defensive. Huwag tayong masyadong feeling guwapo. Kasi pag masyado tayong feeling guwapo na, ‘Di. Kaya ko yung mga temptasyon. Di. Kaya ko ‘yon,’ delikado ‘yon.' Kelangan lagi tayong humble lang," he added. “Mahirap maging masyadong humble. Pag mayabang, (sasabihin) saksakan nang yabang. Pag bumanat ka nang humble, masama ka naman tao.”
