'All about #cleanboxing': Rigondeaux shows support to Donaire after botched Casimero fight

Cuban boxing champion Guillermo Rigondeaux threw in his support to the "Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire on his clean boxing advocacy.

Taking it to social media, the 40-year-old Rigondeaux posted a series of tweets, updating his status on the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) testing.

"V is in house. But they can return as many times as they want. I am a clean fighter and boxing shouldn’t allow dirty fighters in the ring," wrote Rigondeaux on Twitter, posting a photo of him signing a form with his face mask on.

"Hey @filipinoflash check this out. I am like you. All about #cleanboxing," the Cuban veteran followed up, quoting a Tweet of BoxeoCubano.com.

Rigondeaux was back as John Riel Casimero's opponent following Donaire's withdrawal on the all-Filipino showdown due to issues concerning VADA testings and the "disrespectful" behavior that Casimero's camp had shown.

Casimero's WBO bantamweight belt will be on the line when he faces Rigondeaux, the regular WBO titleholder, on Aug 14 with the venue yet to be announced.

In another tweet, Rigondeaux, though not dropping names, seems to take a jab at Casimero.

"I once fought a #RealFilipino. His name is Nonito Donaire and he is not a blondie," said Rigondeaux.

In context, Casimero (30-4 record, 21 knockouts) is currently sporting a blond hair while the #RealFilipino hashtag was used by Sean Gibbons, the president of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, towards Donaire to implicate that he wasn't.

The 32-year-old Casimero boasts a six-match win streak with the latest coming from a technical knockout win over Ghanaian boxer Duke Micah last September while Rigondeaux (20-1, 13 KOs) law saw action in February last year with a split decision victory over Liborio Solis of Venezuela.
