MMDA traffic czar Nebrija addresses haters, asks them important question

Why do you want the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to fail?

This was the question that EDSA traffic czar Edison Bong Nebrija left for his haters and bashers on his Facebook wall Tuesday, June 15.

"Ako I am open to criticism lalo na kung objective naman, may laman at may alternatibong solusyon. Yung iba kasi puro mema lang and all put-downs (Me, I am open to criticism especially if it's objective, has substance and presents an alternative solution. Some comments are empty and they are all put-downs)," wrote Nebrija in what sounded like a virtual man-to-man talk.

"Why do you wish us to fail? If we fail we all fail. We only have one country and one government to lead us," the MMDA official added.

It was back in March when Nebirja's Facebook wall started to get littered with negative posts from trolls. These posts and comments were initially linked to the "tsinelas (slippers)" issue, but they have since covered matters of alleged corruption and supposed anti-people regulations of the agency when it comes to traffic violations.

Nebrija hasn't held back from replying to individual post from bashers, to the point of debating with them just to see if they have anything constructive to share.

In the end, Nebrija underscored that cooperation among Filipinos was key.

"It would be better if we just help each other. Pakita natin ang tunay na Bayanihang Pilipino (Let's show them the true brand of Filipino Bayanihan)," he said.
