10 ingredients to take out from your beauty products

  4. Quaternium-15, also antibacterial and used as a preservative, may cause skin allergies.
  5. Chloroacetamide, used as an antibacterial and preservative, can also result to skin allergies.
  6. Phthalates, a fragrance ingredient, can affect hormone disruption.
  7. O-phenylphenol, preservative and fragrance ingredient, can eventually respiratory problems and skin irritation.
  8. Borates, an emulsifier or preservative, can also cause skin irritation and hormone disruption.
  9. Methylene Glycol, a preservative, can also be a carcinogen.
  10. Microplastics, used as an exfoliator that absorbs toxins in the water, are hazardous to marine life.
