Comelec releases satellite registration schedule in NCR this month

If you are from the National Capital Region (NCR) and you want to register, take note of the satellite registration in your area.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday, May 20 released the schedule of satellite registration in NCR this month in connection with the May 2022 polls.

On May 22 and 29, there will be a satellite registration at Barangay 649 of Manila City's 5th District.

The Quezon City 5th District in Fairview will also have a satellite registration on the said dates.

On May 29, Pasay City 1st District, BJMP and Barangay 135 of Pasay City's 2nd District will also have satellite registration as well.

All the satellite registration mentioned will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barangay Hall.

Satellite registration resumed in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) or no quarantine classification May 10.

Based on Resolution Nos. 10549 and 10674, any interested party may request for offsite registration in their area by writing a letter to the Election Officer, subject to the following guidelines:

- The prospective applicants must be at least 200;

- Barangay halls/centers, public and private schools and universities, malls and commercial establishments, or other public and convenient spaces may be used as satellite registration sites;

-The site must not be owned, leased or occupied as residence by any incumbent local elective official or any person who is related to any local elective official within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, or leader of any political party, or be under the actual control of a political party or religious organization;

- The site must be in an area which is not under any lockdown classification, or those under GCQ or MGCQ with no reported infections 14 days immediately preceding the scheduled satellite registration;

- Proper coordination with local health authorities; and

- Strict observance of the health and safety protocols.
