Robredo gets backing of local political party if she runs for CamSur governor
Despite not revealing her political plans next year, Vice President Leni Robredo is the subject of the political conversation in Camarines Sur as a manifesto signed by members of a local political party showed support if she decides to run as governor of her home province.

The manifesto read that the province needs “a leader who has a genuine concern...who will put the needs of the province and its people first before oneself.”
Robredo, they said, can bring the province “out of poverty and into economic progress.”
“She (Robredo) will be able to lead the province into recovery from the devastating effects of this pandemic. Should she rise to this challenge, we express our support to her candidacy as governor of the province of Camarines Sur,” the manifesto read.
The original copy of the manifesto was posted by former House majority leader Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya Jr. because a fake one that supposedly showed support for Robredo to run as president next year was posted on the page of Bicol News and Updates.

On his official Facebook page, Andaya claimed that some political groups are scared to go against Robredo should she decide to run as governor. Andaya is vocal about supporting presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
“Masyado naman maaga para magpakalat ng #fakenews ngayon. Para saan ito? Lituhin at guluhin ang mga tao. Ganun ba sila katakot na tumakbo at maka-laban nila si VP Leni Robredo? (It is too early to spread #fakenews now. This is for what? Confuse the people. Are they that scared to face VP Leni Robredo if she decides to run?),” he said.
“This kind of tactic is one of the reasons why we need a change in the leadership. This is the reason why we will support Leni,” Andaya, who went against Miguel Luis Villafuerte of the powerful Villafuerte clan and lost against him in the gubernatorial race, added.
He was seen at Barangay Lourdes in Lupi, Camarines Sur once again wearing a shirt with the words “Wish Ko Leni Robredo Governor.”
The manifesto was signed by Camarines Sur fourth district Representative Arnulf Bryan Fuentebella, the provincial chairman and president of Anduyog Party, as well as Mayors Thaddeus Ramos of Ragay, Lilian Matamorosa of Lupi, Ronaldo Franco of Pamplona, Bernard Brioso of Libmanan, Maria Luisa Angeles of Bombon, Anthony Reyes of Milaor, Phillip Señar of Magarao, Tomas Bongalonta Jr. of Pili, Ronald Go of Ocampo, Pamela Fuentebella of Tigaon, John Vincent Fuentebella of Sagñay, Marilyn Co of Caramoan, Nelson Bueza of Garchitorena, Marcel Pan of Goa, Delfin Pilapil of Lagonoy, Jimmy Deleña of Presentacion, Carina Polinga of Siruma, Margarita Aguinillo of Buhi, and Madelaine Alfelor of Iriga.
Earlier, Andaya’s agenda for pushing Robredo to run as governor was tagged as “comedy” because he was never allied with the Robredos or the Liberal Party, which the vice president chairs.
Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Gabriel Bordado, a close friend of the Robredos, also once said that Bicolanos are proud of the vice president’s achievements and will be prouder if she will run as president.
