"The Karate Kid" star Jaden Smith is set to open a restaurant where homeless people can eat for free.
The 22-year-old actor has been active in helping impoverished communities in the US with his I Love You food truck since its launch in 2019. Dedicated to serving only vegan meals, the food truck has already served thousands of people in Los Angeles and New York.
In an interview with Variety, Jaden tells that everyone is welcome to dine in his upcoming restaurant, but more importantly, that its doors are open to welcoming the homeless and serving them free of charge.
"But if you’re not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you," the young rapper says.
This is not the first philanthropic work of the young actor. Jaden has helped bring clean water to underserved communities in Michigan with the Water Box project in collaboration with 501CTHREE.org., which is featured in the "We Got Now" campaign by New Balance.
