Apparently, Gal Gadot faced up with the director during the shoot of “Justice League.”

The star of Wonder Woman said that Joss Whedon threatened her career while the two were working together on “Justice League,” Rolling Stone reports.

From an interview by Israel’s N12 News, Gadot was asked about reports that the popular actress’ working relationship with the director had a “contentious atmosphere” during the filming of the ensemble superhero movie. With claims that “Whedon didn’t approve of Gadot’s attempt to change her character (Wonder Woman) and that the director allegedly told Gadot to just be pretty and say her lines.”

Gadot said in the interview that, “What I had with Joss basically is that he kind of threatened my career and said if I did something he would make my career miserable.” Asked what her initial reaction to that was, she added, “I handled it on the spot.” 

The clash between Gadot and Whedon had previously been reported back in 2020 by the Los Angeles Times, albeit the former wasn’t as specific. “I had my own experience with (him), which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it when it happened. I took it to the higher-ups and they took care of it,” Gadot said at the time.

Rolling Stone mentioned in its report that “Whedon’s behavior throughout his career has come under increased scrutiny over the past several years.”

It also cited Ray Fisher, who played Vic Stone/Cyborg in “Justice League” as having described Whedon’s behavior towards cast and crew as “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.” Ditto Charisma Carpenter, who starred in Whedon’s ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Angel’ who accused the director of the same, with Buffy co-actors Amber Benson and Michelle Tractenberg corroborating the claim.
