Abed seeks strong comeback following EG's bitter loss in SG Major finals

Filipino star midlaner Abed Azel "Abed" Yusop is raring to rebound after Evil Geniuses suffered a depressing 3-2 reverse sweep defeat at the hands of Invictus Gaming in the ONE Esports Singapore Major grand finals on Sunday night, April 4. 

"Ty (thank you) sa lahat ng sumuporta at nanood. Bawi kami next LAN (Thank you to all those who supported us and watched. We're gonna bounce back in the next LAN tournament)," Abed said through his verified Facebook account.

Like EG and his carry teammate Artour "Arteezy" Babaev, Abed came oh so close to winning his first Dota 2 Major title after taking a commanding 2-0 series lead only to fall short against iG's furious comeback. 

The 20-year-old 11K MMR pride of Dasmariñas, Cavite played his signature Storm Spirit all throughout the five games of the championship series. 

Abed sparked EG's 27-21 Game 1 romp in 31 minutes as he picked up nine kills and 10 assists without a death before joining forces with Arteezy's Bloodseeker to fuel the 35-8 decimation for the North American kings in just 28 minutes in Game 2. 

However, Abed was shut down in the next three games as iG appeared to have decoded EG's draft. 

Zhou "Emo" Yi also seemed to have gotten into Abed and his teammates' heads as he sent a question mark--widely considered as a form of trash talk in esports--in the all chat after securing the victory in Game 3. 

TI caliber position-4 support Hu "Kaka" Liangzhi came up with brilliant plays on his Lion to lead the Chinese giant to the crown in the first Major tournament of the year. 

Abed and EG will look to dominate the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) North America upper division anew in Season 2 and make it to the second Major.
