Michael Cinco's 'The Impalpable Dream of Survival' is a menswear triumph

Following the success of his recent women's collection with "The Impalpable Dream of Faith," Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco releases his latest triumph with menswear. The designer's modern vision of true grit comes fully realized in a fashion editorial featuring the spring-summer menswear 2021 collection entitled "The Impalpable Dream of Survival."

Michael's latest offering features jacquard, silk, and sequined pieces, embroidered hoodies, and crystallized belts as armors to protect the champions from aggressors. “When you're finally face to face with the raw, harsh realities of life, there is no place for cowardice," Michael says exclusively to Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. "At this difficult time in the world what we all need to do is fight for survival.”

Devoid of any bright colors commonly associated with spring and summer seasons, Michael opts instead for a monotonous palette, revealing much of the design elements through textures and fabrications. “I used a lot of neutral colors of black, white, and gray mostly from my last season menswear collection," adds the designers. "I love the beaded boxing shorts in sequins and the embroidered hood, and crystallized belt in M5 logo. They are very cool, fashionable, and yet very couture.”

Shot entirely in Dubai, the fashion editorial was photographed by Hussain Jian with a diverse group of subjects. “I met on Instagram these inked influencers and models from London, who are all here vacationing in Dubai. They sent me a message and asked me for a collaboration," Michael says. "I showed them the boxing fashion editorials concept that I want which for me is very relevant to what's happening now in the world."
