Fliptop champ and hit rap artist Shehyee’s music video for “Aba Okay Din” is doing well at YouTube.

The music video hit a million views in the early hours of Thursday, March 18, 2021. The music video was first posted on YouTube five days ago.

On his latest single, Shehyee touches on the hot topic of double standards. And on “Aba Okay Din,” he goes against the prevalent notion that women always get the raw end of things when it comes to gender double standards. And in this grooving, expletive-filled banger, Shehyee enumerates his grievances on the matter.

The music video reflects the “Trip Lang” singer’s sarcastic jabs on the matter. But while the audio may sound biting, the music video is upbeat and hilarious. Shehyee’s comical portrayal of himself in the video is akin to him saying ‘relax I’m just blowing off steam on this matter.’ Which when Shehyee usually does, makes for some highly listenable rap tunes.

And of course, Netizens are getting what Shehyee is on about on “Aba Okay Din.”

“I’m a woman pero di ako na-offend sa kantang ‘to,” said one YouTube comment (Mariene Villaceran) adding, “the message of the song speaks facts. Men deserve to be respected too. Yung iba kasi ina-advocate equality not realizing na mas ina-advocate nila yung feminism.”

“Given na may bastos sa lyrics pero may laman sya. I mean, oo nga naman grabe makahingi ng gender equality ung iba pero di naman nila kayang gawin sa iba,” said another YouTube commenter (Jomarc Goce).

Fans of Shehyee meanwhile are just plain gushing about the rap artist’s new song.

“Mas malupit nung may official MV na. Bangis!” said one (Jonn Enguero). Meanwhile, Wil Dasovich goes: “My guy wit (sic) another banger” (on-fire emoji).

Making appearances on the music video are several social media personalities. Among them sexpot celebrity Sunshine Guimary, Sexbomb New Gen’s Eunice Creus and Natalie Peters, and Viva Artist Shaine Vasquez. Also on the music video are Shehyee’s crew at Team Tambay: Balong, Boy Turok, Damulog and Julius “Banoobs” Mariano.

The rapper shared with Bulletin Entertainment shortly after the single was released that his inspiration for the track came from a social media post that went viral some time ago. “I saw a viral post by a woman who took a picture of a guy, whom she labeled as ‘not a gentleman,’ because he didn’t give her his seat at the MRT,” said Shehyee in Tagalog. “I saw this post way back in 2018 and I’ve seen a couple more similar things since then. That’s when I wrote the song and thought, ‘Aba Okay Din,’ mused Shehyee.
