Marvel Studios release 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness' official teaser

“The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”
Just fresh from “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Marvel Studios has released Thursday, the official teaser for a new upcoming movie titled “Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness”.
In the two-minute, eleven second-trailer, we had a good look of what to expect for the second installment of "Doctor Strange" that stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the ‘Sorcerer Supreme.’
For one, the new film will delve deeper into the multiverse angle, which the MCU have already dived into with in “No Way Home.” And though we can hear Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange in voice-over mode warning that said “multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little,” hopefully within the film, audiences can get a better handle of where Marvel wants to go with it. And this is no spoiler, it’s going to be great!

The teaser also sees Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. The Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen, who will figure heavily in the upcoming film. This brings together two of MCU’s main mystics in Strange and Maximoff. Also returning are Benedict Wong as Master Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo.
The teaser also implies that the main villain in the “Multiverse of Madness” is none other than Doctor Strange himself. Or at least a maniacal version of him, which we see in the teaser. This bit recalls Marvel Studios’ “What If..?” series, in which Doctor Strange, in his desire to save Christine, meddled with magic that he shouldn’t have, that resulted in the destruction of one universe. A tip: that excellent animated series should be watched to get into the intricacies of the MCU multiverse. Because everything that Marvel Studios does is intertwined.
“Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness” is directed by Sam Raimy, who marks his return into the superhero genre. As many fans of the MCU already know, Raimy’s is putting a horror spin into “Doctor Strange.” Given that magic and a lot of unknown variables are involved, fans might just see exactly that from Raimy and this film.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” theatrical release is slated for May 6, 2022.
