These gift packs from Gina de Venecia boost Pangasinan SME products
Searching for a unique gift this holiday season or for any special occassion? Go to lovemanaygina.com, where Pangasinan’s treats and treasures are available through specially curated gift packs, handpicked by Manay Gina de Venecia, humanitarian and former congresswoman.
These gift packs feature some irresistible treats, such as San Fabian’s must-try pingka and tupig, pesto tuyo, coco banana chips, and the yema spread, the ultimate pan de sal mate. They are encased in sleek handwoven baskets proudly made in the province of Pangasinan and topped with a show-stopping bow arrangement to complete the festive look and make any recipient say wow.
Manay Gina launched this project to support Congressman Toff De Venecia’s efforts to boost Pangasinan products made by SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the province’s fourth congressional district.
Explaining her initiative, Manay Gina said she deemed it would be a thoughtful idea to give back and support local enterprises, which managed to thrive during the pandemic through the industry, sacrifice, and perseverance of local entrepreneurs and their workers.
Proceeds, after costs, in the sales of “Love, Manay Gina” gift packs will go to the funding of community pantries as well as some female-led businesses within the fourth district of Pangasinan.
Recently given new logos and makeup by local graphic artists through the initiative of Congressman Toff de Venecia, these SMEs all need new markets in order to attract more buyers and survive in these trying times.
Manay Gina launched this project to support Congressman Toff De Venecia’s efforts to boost Pangasinan products made by SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the province’s fourth congressional district.
“With hope, this initiative will encourage entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, and female empowerment, causes all close to my heart, especially the latter as I have been an advocate of women empowerment all these years,” said Manay Gina.

Some of the products that “Love, Manay Gina” gift packs seek to promote are the flavored marinated bangus and bangus-in-a-bottle of Elisha Bay Food Products of Mangin, Dagupan City, dragon fruit, vanilla bean, and mulberry from the Fortune Dragon Agri-Farm, a 12-hectare farm in Brgy. San Juan, San Jacinto, coco banana chips from Dagupan City, the San Fabian’s best pingka or dried swordfish; and the famous Manaoag’s Blessed Hand Turmeric Tea, a concoction especially made for health buffs, made from turmeric, ginger, pandan, lemongrass, sambong, malunggay, lagundi, banaba, and guyabano.
When also in Manaoag, tourists should not miss the pasalubong stopover owned by Mendoza Handicrafts that sells a variety of products mostly handcrafted from buri and rattan, such as pampers, planters, mirrors, baskets, plates, fans, lanterns, and chairs, most of which are included in the “Love, Manay Gina” gift packs.

Then, there is San Fabian’s tupig. A delicious delicacy from the north, it made from shredded buko, glutinous rice, brown sugar, and margarine. Peanut brittle sold like hot cakes in Baguio City but produced by Romana Food Products of Mangaldan goes along with other products like tablea, salted peanuts, cashew nuts, peanut butter, and corn fritters.
In Barangay Bari, Mangaldan, a small enterprise called Up Lokal is producing calamansi concentrate in bottles. The calamansi is sourced from a six-hectare plantation in Brgy. Lekep Butao in adjacent San Fabian, which is being heavily promoted by Congressman De Venecia as a new agri-tourism destination in his district.
After paying devotion at the Minor Basilica of Manaoag, pilgrims wanting to bring home an image of the patroness Our Lady of Manaoag should go to the SRC Religious Article for this item. Also, tourist can buy bagoong (salted fish) and patis (fish sauce) at the Fernandez Bagoong Trading in Brgy. Herrero-Perez when in Dagupan City.
Jarold’s Food Products in Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City boasts of yema in a bottle, ube jam, peanut butter, puto-pao, pichi-pichi, and the famous bangus sisig, which are also included in the “Love, Manay Gina” gift packs.
Manay Gina and her son Toff believe that Pangasinan-produced and handcrafted products can compete well among the best pasalubong items from any of the tourist spots in the Philippines.
