
Visitors who are not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are no longer allowed to enter the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.
In an announcement posted on its Facebook page, the CIW said: “Visitors will be allowed on the condition that they are fully vaccinated and must present their vaccination cards upon entry,” it added.
Of the seven prison facilities managed by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), the CIW has the highest number of vaccinated persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
Based on its previous statement, the CIW said that 3,300 out of its 3,352 PDLS have been vaccinated as of Dec. 16.
BuCor records also show that as of Dec. 16, there have been 44,589 inmates in its prison facilities who have been vaccinated which is 91.87 percent of its total prisoner population of 48,537.
Of those vaccinated, 24,911 PDLs had received their first dose while 19,678 had their full doses.
There are 27,529 vaccinated PDLs at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City; Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, 2,271; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, 1,716; Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), 1,946; Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte, 6,122; and the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, 1,705.
