PH's first-ever e-book on int'l space cooperation launched
The first-ever e-book on international space cooperation and the Philippine space law and affairs has been launched, the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) announced.

The e-book titled, “The Compendium of Lectures and Speeches Delivered during the International Space Cooperation and the Philippines Webinar,” was produced by the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs (DFA- OTLA) in partnership with PhilSA.
PhilSA noted that this was the result of the “knowledge exchange” and sharing from the webinar held in October 2020, where the Philippine space agenda, space science diplomacy, the Philippine treaty-making process, and international cooperation were discussed.
The first part of the compendium features the messages from the DFA and PhilSA, containing snippets of the national government’s efforts in advancing the space agenda for peaceful uses in the country and abroad.
Meanwhile, the second part contains the lectures given by government officials in the country who have been involved in various facets of international space cooperation.
The third part features the lectures of international experts in the space sector, while the fourth and last part includes referenced materials mentioned throughout the e-book.
“We hope that this publication, may be able to go further in space and that we may find more solutions to improve our lives here on earth to preserve it for generations and beyond,” said DFA-OTLA Assistant Secretary Igor G. Bailen during the e-book virtual launch conducted on Thursday, Dec. 9.
Interested readers may access and get a free copy of the said e-book through PhilSA’s website.
PhilSa said the e-book will be of great interest to policymakers, scientists, students, space enthusiasts, and anyone interested in space diplomacy affairs. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
